Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has said community participation remains key to addressing insecurity across the country.

The governor stated this while receiving participants of Senior Course 48 from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, during a study tour to Katsina State.

Radda explained that his administration adopted a community-based security approach after discovering that conventional security personnel alone were insufficient to tackle insecurity effectively.

He said the establishment of the Katsina Community Watch Corps and collaboration with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and local communities have helped reduce insecurity and restore farming activities in many areas.

The governor also stressed that most security challenges in the state are criminal activities such as kidnapping and cattle rustling, making grassroots intelligence and local involvement essential.

Earlier, the team leader, Brigadier General K. Rabiu, described Katsina as a model for community-driven security and development, praising the state’s efforts in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and education.
