“A Man Presiding Over Bloodshed Cannot Preach Protection: Nigeria Rejects Imported Religious Wars.”By Chief Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo

Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement that Israel is developing an agenda to support persecuted Christians in Nigeria should be treated with extreme cautionand deep skepticism.

A man presiding over mass civilian deaths in Gaza, affecting both Christians and Muslims, lacks the moral standing to posture as a defender of religious freedom elsewhere. The reality in Palestine exposes the contradiction: churches, mosques, hospitals, and homes have been destroyed, and innocent lives extinguished. That record disqualifies any claim to humanitarian or faith-based leadership.

More troubling is the dangerous framing of Nigeria’s insecurity as a Christian-versus-Muslim issue. Nigeria’s tragedy is criminal terrorism and banditry, not a religious war.

Turning it into one by foreign actors with their own geopolitical agendas is reckless. It risks inflaming tensions between neighbors who have lived, traded, worshipped, and intermarried together for generations.

Nigeria does not need imported religious polarization. It needs: Intelligence-led policing and prosecutions of sponsors, enablers, and financiers of terror. Justice and accountability, not air-dropped narratives. Protection for all Nigerians, regardless of faith.

Let it be said clearly: Christians are victims; Muslims are victims; Nigerians are victims. The enemy is terrorism and criminality, not Islam, not Christianity.

Foreign leaders who demonize one faith while claiming to protect another are not allies of peace. They are merchants of division. Nigeria must reject any attempt to turn its security crisis into a proxy religious war.

Wake up. Be wise. Don’t be baited into a conflict that only serves external interests while Nigeria bleeds.
